• Market data may be delayed and inaccurate. Prices, fundamentals, options, earnings, and other figures are sourced from third parties (see Attribution), are typically delayed by 15 minutes or more, and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Do not rely on them for real-time or professional trading decisions.
• AI-generated content can be wrong. Portfolio analysis and news sentiment are produced by an automated AI model (Anthropic Claude). AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and is never a recommendation or advice. Always verify independently.
• Past performance does not guarantee future results. All investments carry risk, including loss of principal.
• You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and for consulting a qualified, licensed professional before acting. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its data.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Service, or by creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and legally able to enter into this agreement. You are responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you.

3. Accounts & security

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your password confidential. Passwords are stored only as salted bcrypt hashes — we never store or have access to your plaintext password. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting stock.hub.web@gmail.com.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for unlawful purposes; (b) scrape, harvest, resell, or redistribute data obtained through the Service in violation of third-party terms; (c) attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data sources; or (d) rely on the Service as a source of record for professional or fiduciary trading activity.

5. Third-party data & services

The Service depends on third-party data and APIs (see Attribution). We do not control and are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or terms of those third parties, and access may change or stop at any time.

6. No warranty

THE SERVICE AND ALL DATA ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL Thomas Bowers OR ITS CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR INVESTMENT LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed USD $100.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Thomas Bowers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service or any account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there.

Information we collect

• Account data: your username and a salted bcrypt hash of your password (never plaintext).
• Financial data you enter: your portfolios, positions, cash balances, watchlist, price alerts, and related history.
• Preferences: app settings such as theme and refresh interval (stored in your browser's local storage as stockhub_settings, and on the server where applicable).

Cookies & local storage

We use a single essential, signed session cookie (sh_session, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax) to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage holds non-sensitive UI preferences. Clearing cookies will sign you out.

How your data is used & shared with third parties

We use your data to operate the Service. To provide features, certain data is sent to third-party providers:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): when you use AI features, a snapshot of your portfolio holdings and/or news headlines is transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate analysis and sentiment. Do not enter information you are unwilling to share with that provider.
• Market data providers: the tickers and queries you view are sent to data sources (Yahoo Finance, and where configured, Finnhub and FRED) to retrieve quotes and other market data.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data if required by law.

Data retention & your choices

We retain your account and financial data until you request deletion. To access, correct, or delete your data, or to close your account, contact stock.hub.web@gmail.com.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data (hashed passwords, signed session cookies). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Stock Hub relies on data and services from third parties. All names, marks, and data are the property of their respective owners and are used subject to their terms. Data is provided without warranty and may be inaccurate or delayed.

• Yahoo Finance (accessed via the yfinance library) — quotes, fundamentals, options, earnings, insider activity, and news. Subject to Yahoo's terms of service.
• Finnhub (when configured) — supplemental real-time quote data. Subject to Finnhub's terms.
• FRED — Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (when configured) — economic calendar and indicators. Subject to FRED's terms.
• Anthropic Claude — AI-generated portfolio analysis and news sentiment. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and is not advice. Subject to Anthropic's usage policies.
